In order to provide for the general welfare of all persons using the East Islip Public Library, and in order to provide for the general safety of children using the Library:
- Preschoolers may not be left unattended outside the visual range of a parent or caregiver in the Library.
- Children under age nine may not be left unattended in the Library.
Parents or caregivers are responsible for their children's behavior in the Library.
- Disruptive children are defined as children violating the Library's rules and regulations as defined by Library policy.
- Although the Library assumes no responsibility for children left unattended on its premises, it will take every action necessary to guarantee the safety and security of unattended children, including calling the police if necessary.
